Bobby & Dan’s Market Report

Hey guys – Welcome to our new market report feature. We will be updating this regualrly to keep you up to date on what we see coming through the markets each week. We will also keep you up to date on great buys for the week and weather affected stock.

We hope you like the new features as much as we do.

Regards Dan & Bobby

Bobby’s Pick of the Week

Avocados – LOCAL (Bobs Farm Port Stephens) Avos now available and we are confident these are the best you’ll buy all year. We are also stocking a 2nd grade avo for a cheaper option.

Dan’s Pick of the Week

Asparagus – Spring is here and that means the Australian Asparagus season has now started.  Australian asparagus is available from September to March with most produced during spring between September and November.

Mangoes

the Kensington pride mangoes have only been slowly flowing into the markets. This will change in the next week or so as weather heats up. The fruit at the moment is exceptional eating due the extended period the fruit has been hanging on the tree.  The normal time period for a KP mango to reach its full maturity is around 100 days

Strawberries

QLD season in full swing and we are seeing great value everywhere with strawberries. Prices vary on sizes etc, we are buying Med/Large size and great value for customers

Lemons

Great growing conditons in certain regions therefore a great supply of Lemons available at the moment

Stonefruits

The first supply of Peaches & Nectrines have started to come through the markets, so not long now to you see them come down in price.

Green Veggies

Great growing conditions and we are seeing an abundance of fresh Green veggies flowing through the markets (Broccoli, Beans, Bok Choy etc)

Blueberries

Premium Blueberries are the pick of the berries this week and well priced.

Weather Affected & Out of Season

Rainfall combined with cooler conditions in the major growing regions has slowed down supply of some veggie lines into the markets, Also demand is high therefore we are seeing short supply of these items.
